Youth support services in Townsville and the Burdekin

Childhood and adolescence can be a confusing and challenging time and not all young people have solid support networks.

Aspire is based in Townsville and the Burdekin, and provides free support to young people who are not being protected by their family, friends and communities. We want them to lead safe, healthy and active lives.

This includes young people who are at risk of one or more of the following:

  • Disconnection from family and social activities.
  • Pulling away from school or employment.
  • Mental health issues.
  • Cultural disconnection.
  • Homelessness.
  • Risk of entering the youth justice system.

How does Aspire help?

We provide tailored support by speaking to our young people about what they need and what they would like to achieve in life. Assistance can range from counselling for complex needs, such as dealing with trauma or depression and anxiety, to practical support like creating a resume to find work.

Who does Aspire help?

Aspire is focused on helping young people aged between 12 and 21. If the Department of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services is the primary guardian of the young person, we are unable to assist.

How to access Aspire support

We accept self-referrals, and referrals from schools, police and other community agencies. Please call us on 1300 096 203 or complete the form below.
