Mental Health Chat (MH-Chat)
Discover how to support someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue.
MH-Chat is an introductory program designed to provide participants with some knowledge and awareness to recognise, respond and refer when supporting someone who is experiencing a common mental health issue. Participants are introduced to the main signs that a colleague is not coping and may need help. There is also information on self-care and stress management to ensure that participants take responsibility for their own wellbeing.

- How to make a referral
Participants also learn about how to look out for themselves and their colleagues, including:
- Tips for stress management
- Promoting positive mental health (self-care)
The training is delivered by qualified, experienced Lifeline trainers. Participants receive a Statement of Attendance at completion of the course.

How it works
Format: There are two options for this course:
- Two-hour, face-to-face session with a qualified Lifeline trainer*.
- Two-hour online virtual workshop with a qualified Lifeline trainer (content may differ from face-to-face training).
The workshop will be tailored to the specific needs of participants.

Outcome: Participants will learn how to recognise, respond and refer when supporting someone who is experiencing a common mental health issue.
*Our COVID-19 plan is in place for all training sessions. All social distancing regulations as established by the Government and Department of Health will be followed for face-to-face training sessions.
