Welcome to Cooinda, UnitingCare’s short-term disability accommodation in the township of Warwick in Queensland’s scenic Southern Downs. Set in a picturesque rural landscape, Cooinda – which means Happy Place – is close to amenities and shops, offering the perfect country escape.
Cooinda provides overnight respite for people with disability who require assistance with daily activities or personal care for a short period. The property features three bedrooms, with two shared fully accessible bathrooms/wet rooms and an additional toilet.
The attached daytime activity service provides participants the opportunity to share supports, while enjoying group-based activities or getting out and about on adventures to local and not-so-local attractions, such as Stanthorpe and Queen Mary Falls.
It’s a great opportunity for you to try new things, or for when your usual caregiver is not available.
Cooinda features
UnitingCare’s short-term accommodation provides respite to support you and your carers. It is available to people aged 18-65 with NDIS funding, dependent on availability.
Cooinda features:

- 24/7 support from qualified disability support workers.
- Transport subject to availability (can be arranged at a cost, or included in service agreement out of NDIS transportation budget).

Cooinda costs
Cooinda short-term accommodation is an NDIS-funded service. You may have short-term accommodation stipulated in your NDIS plan, or your core budget may be used flexibly to cover short-term accommodation costs.
