Southport Court Link Housing Support helps reduce homelessness and housing instability for people involved in the Court Link Program at Southport Magistrates Court.
The service provides housing focused support at a critical time, working alongside Court Link to help participants access safe, stable housing and build the skills and connections needed to sustain it.
Who the service is for
This service is exclusive to Court Link participants who are:
- Engaged with the Southport Magistrates Court, and
- Experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, and
- Referred through the Court Link Program
The service supports adults involved in the criminal legal system who may be facing multiple barriers, including housing insecurity, limited income, health challenges or social disadvantage.
What we offer
Participants receive short-term, housing focused support from a specialist case worker, including:
- Support navigating housing systems
- Access to safe and stable housing
- Tenancy support
- Support to build independence and community connections
- Help to understand housing options, complete assessments and applications, and connect with housing providers.
- Housing navigation and advocacy to reduce barriers and improve access to appropriate housing options.
- Practical assistance to help participants understand and meet tenancy requirements and sustain their housing.
- Referrals and connections to ongoing supports that promote stability, independence and social connection.
All support is delivered using a person-centred, trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach that respects people’s dignity, rights and choices.
How the service works
Southport Court Link Housing Support is a court adjacent service, working closely with Court Link Case Managers and partner services to provide coordinated, timely housing support.
The service focuses on:
- Early engagement following referral
- Collaboration with Court Link and housing providers
- Practical, housing focused intervention
- Short-term support to improve housing stability

- Outreach and Smith Street office (client visits pending confirmation)
