Meet Lacee

Lacee decided to pursue a career with UnitingCare because she wanted to change perceptions of what people with disability are capable of.

“I think ‘disability’ is a word that’s really misunderstood and misinterpreted,” she says.

Lacee's Mission Possible story with UnitingCare Queensland
“Tiana’s reached her full potential in school – but the sky’s the limit.” — Lacee

Working alongside her, Lacee works to empower and build Tiana's confidence: “We always focus on the ability in disability. We focus on her strengths and what she can do, as opposed to what she can’t.”

“I want to help people break through their barriers.” — Lacee

It’s an approach that has worked wonders for Tiana. For Lacee, watching her charge flourish and grow in confidence has been hugely satisfying. “Her success becomes my success,” she says. “It’s how I measure whether or not I’m doing a good job.”

Tiana shared her story too. Watch Tiana's story now or view all Mission Possible stories.
